Dr. Antoine Eid, a neuroscientist and founder of Meet Yourself, brings a scientific lens to a deeply human idea: kindness. Born in Lebanon and now based in the UK, Antoine began his career in corporate consulting. But as he advanced through a large global firm, he found himself increasingly unsettled. “The common language was metrics and cost-cutting,” he said. “No one talked about emotions or personality.” That disconnect became a turning point.

At a conference, he heard a talk by Australian neuroscientist Dr. David Rock. He read Your Brain at Work in three days and then decided to enroll at Cambridge University to study neuroscience. “That’s what I’m going to study,” he decided. Today, he leads Meet Yourself, a personality assessment platform based on DNA testing, with over 125,000 tests conducted. His mission: to help people discover hidden talents and unlock their potential.

Kindness, Antoine argues, is not just a social value—it has biological roots. “We are born with a predisposition toward kindness,” he explained. “But life can lead us to use other tools—like greed—to get what we want.” In his view, kindness is no longer just a virtue; it is a responsibility. “If we do not actively bring more positive energy, there will soon be no good energy left.”

He brings a global perspective to the conversation. Having lived in Australia, Saudi Arabia, and the UK—and visited nearly 100 countries—Antoine has seen how kindness is shaped by culture. “Markets less driven by commercial greed tend to hold onto moral values like generosity and hospitality,” he said. “Sometimes people with less have more kindness.”

Antoine’s daughter also reminds him of the everyday power of empathy. During a recent lunch, a gruff waiter left Antoine feeling disappointed, until his daughter quietly said, “I think he has some trouble at home.” That reframed the entire moment. “It made me stop and look at the situation with more kindness and empathy. It's there every day with every person we meet, and I think it's contagious.”

He is especially passionate about helping people realize their potential. “We all have talent hidden in our genes,” he said. “But not everyone has the chance to nurture it.” His work is guided by the belief that with the right opportunity, every person can contribute meaningfully to society. He supports frameworks for ethical leadership.

“We all have talent hidden in our genes. Imagine what the world would be like if everyone got the chance to express it.”

Dr. Antoine Eid is a neuroscientist, founder, and advocate for human-centered leadership. His work is about investing in people. Kindness can unlock more than potential. It can create a better future. Keep an eye out for more interviews.
